I'll be the first to admit that when I started my blog, I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I needed an outlet for my compulsive fashion obsession and my love of writing. And so it began: a post here, a post there, with no real reason or rhyme. I don't think anyone reading my early posts would have any idea what my blog was actually<\/em> about, or have a sense of the person writing it.<\/p>\n

Slowly, and sometimes painfully, I learned how to reign in my wandering words. Through both positive and critical reader feedback (and advice from my mother, of all people) I started to refine my content. I honed in on my message, and I found my voice. (It happens to be a fashionable sense of humor.)\u00a0Once I did, things began to pick up steam. I gained more followers on Twitter, higher traffic, and more comments. It didn't happen overnight, and I'm certainly not crazy\u00a0internet famous, but I'm proud of the results.<\/p>\n

This brings me to today's topic: finding your voice & defining your niche<\/strong>. Like I said, this isn't something that's going to happen overnight. You're already unique among blogs because there's only one you; it's just a matter of clarifying your voice for your audience.\u00a0Keep in mind, you don't have to rush it. <\/span>The point of this post is merely to inspire you to get the gears turning in your head. I'm encouraging you to figure out what you love, what you're best at, and how to make your blog shine brighter than its peers!<\/p>\n
